Prepare the lips with a good base as always.
Follow your own lip shape with a neutral lip liner, in a colour that blends with your natural skin tone. At the cupid’s bow, so as not to exaggerate the ‘points’, relax your mouth and ensure that your pencil is not too sharp. Fill in the mouth with the same colour.
Next take a creamy red lipstick (with blue tones ifyou have pink-toned skin, or orange tones if you have yellow-toned skin) and fill in the mouth.
Blot with a tissue and reapply.
For a classic finish, avoid matt lipsticks (two-dimensional) and glosses (too Hollywood). Never use red lip pencil with red lipstick, as it looks unnatural.
Red is the one colour that crosses the generations – a timeless classic that bridges the gaps of age and culture. Ultimately vampish and always sexy, a pair of red lips has emblazoned icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Paloma Picasso and Eva Peron on our memories for ever.
